A commemorative airshow in Dallas ended in tragedy during the Wings Over Dallas event, which was intended to honor World War II aviation history. The gathering, meant to celebrate and preserve historic flight heritage, instead became the site of a fatal mid-air collision that shocked spectators and the wider aviation community.

During a demonstration flight, two vintage aircraft—a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra—collided in mid-air. Both planes were rare examples of 1940s military aviation, and their appearance was part of a heritage display designed to educate and commemorate the role of aviation in World War II.
