A woman on trial for murder shocked the courtroom when she tried to argue that she wasn’t responsible because she was “insane.”
Prosecutors, however, pointed out that her actions were carefully planned and deliberate, dismissing her insanity claim as nothing more than a performance.
At one point, the judge openly criticized her attempt to shift the blame, telling the jury that what they were seeing wasn’t mental illness — it was cruelty. “This isn’t madness,” the judge said, “this is evil.”
